WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
We are officially the proud owners of our own home, with more space and a beautiful fenced in yard for our fur babies. We are so excited to be moving in this weekend, just in time to celebrate our six month wedding anniversary and Valentine's day. *swoon* Oh, and he got me some gelato from Whole Foods and an orchid for the kitchen. Nothing says "welcome home" like an orchid and ice cream :)
You mean moving, packing, unpacking, cleaning, painting, laying new tile, and the works isn't your idea of a romantic weekend? Well then I guess it's one more reason Jason is lucky to have me (haha!) because I can't wait to dive right in. By can't wait, I mean it's already started. Like, we have made four trips to Home Depot or Lowe's, removed wallpaper, painted the first floor and tiled the utility room. Not to mention the miscellaneous stop and go little tasks that no one accounts for in their timeline. What... you don't make timelines?
A big shout out to Dad and Shelly for being our "are you sure you're up for this?" team and helping tackle my long list of projects right off the bat. And to the McVey twins, for lending their muscle, time, and cars in exchange for pizza and beer. You guys are the bomb.
So what does this mean? A new house means we no longer feel like the walls are closing in on us. A new house means room to grow and enjoy. It means a proper garden with more variety this summer; the ability to design and decorate our home based on our tastes (and to share these projects with you!) This new house means we are officially suburb people :). It means backyard barbeques and cocktail parties, a home office, a two car garage, A LAUNDRY ROOM - is this real life?! My own laundry room...finally - it's like winning the jackpot of homemaking! It means we are doing this adulting gig for real... no turning back now! And we couldn't be more excited for home ownership.
Since the Big Announcement post on Wednesday, I've received so many texts and comments with speculating guesses. Now don't shoot the messenger, but this (and the promise of more regular blogging as we get settled and my time is less sucked by the need to purge and pack) is the only announcement for now. I repeat, we ARE NOT pregnant. No bun in this oven. Do you hear me?
For now, we will be plenty busy enjoying life as a family of four, running and playing in the back yard. Or napping in the living room. To each their own. <3
